I suspect that one could fashion a bracket to bolt to the bumper underneath corner bracket or frame underneath and extend it out toward the corner and mount an vertical pipe to extend upward to near the rear door hinge and on top of that mount a 4' fiberglass antenna. Make sure the door does not hit the mount when fully opened.
There is always a way to work around a problem.....
If mounted to the chassis a GP antenna would work and it mounted on the fiberglass body of the vehicle a NGP would be required.
EDIT: On second thought one could use a trunk mount type bracket and mount it on the van at the top of the rear door...
