Did I miss the memo or something about safety chains? For 30 years, I have always crossed my safety chains to provide a basket for the tongue in the horrific event the coupler comes loose of the ball....

Ditto, think most are too long...some even touching pavement to spark
Another issue is that folks don't understand sizing for their safety chains. Nor
understand that there are two ratings for most chains. Work rating and break rating.
Ditto connection hardware(s) Think too many are undersized for their
trailer
