On my late model Ford truck I found a package in the glove box with a FUSE and a RELAY in it with no markings... After looking in the manual I found this was to be plugged into the main fuse block under the hood of the truck to engage what they call TRAILER TOW.... This provided 12VDC coming from the truck start system to provide 12VDC to the trailer +BAT line through the 7-way trailer cable connection.
With the fuse and relay installed, it is only available when the truck ignition key is turned ON...
Because of the longer lines and size of the cables this can only provide a small trickle charge DC Voltage going back to the trailer battery...
