I also happen to be a huge fan of ‘free-thinking’ Elon Musk, though I see an occasional above ground pipeline or a ‘far more ubiquitous’ underground gas-petroleum pipeline far less environmentally intrusive than *strip-mining the planet…Perhaps he’ll find a more workable alternative:)…

* (i.e. using ‘massive’ amounts of heavy diesel equipment to dig up untold tons of someone else’s earth, in someone else's backyard for mere few ounces of rare EV cobalt, and then there’s the relatively rare element of lithium??…).

And ALL vehicles are made with steel, and steel CANNOT be made without coal - are we to outsource steel mfg. to China and India ??…(FWIW, China and India are building 30 new coal fired plants EACH week, so it’s not exactly clear to me, due mainly to the vagaries of the weather how green energy can allow the West to compete - but hey, just another opinion)..
