Cheap android tablets

I have used the cheap RCA tablets from helmart, read that as
www.walmart.com
for several years, the one I am on now is 3 years old and has done well. 32 gigs of memory, android 5.0 which seems to play well with google maps and rvparky and others,
They have just put them on sale, with keyboards for $59.98.
RCA 10.1" Viking Pro
Yes, I know some think their I pad is better, but for $60 it runs google earth and stores current maps pretty well, does not have direct cellular connectivity, but the gps and wifi do work well and allow connection through a mobile hotspot, and gives you a cheap option to keep in the cab or trailer for web use as needed.

Just saw, they are offering the windows 10 version, (cambrio) for $79.98
Happy motorin
  • Everybody has different wants and needs. I have no use for any kinda of electronic tablet thingie. But, on my trip to Nebraska last year to see the eclipse the teenagers I took along did show me how to use google maps on my phone. I have to admit that is was handy but, I would not completely trust it. I heard to many horror stories of people getting stuck because the thing took them down the wrong road. I will look for things on a map first and then use the automatic thing as another resource.

    Have a nice Day
  • I know nothing about these products. The “built in GPS” caught my attention.

I have not seen a reference to “built in GPS” on Walmart’s site yet. Can the thing be used as mobile GPS device?

What should I be looking for?

ah looks like they have improved it since my model (Mine is a 10. not a 10.1)

    I do miss the GPS
  • I have the RCA Viking Pro 10.1 with Android 6.0 and like it a lot. Like the built in GPS, good charging port, USB port, and of course the price.

I have one of those too. Major issues like the USB port is not worth much (Oh it works as a charging port but that's about all) and mine has other issues as well.

But it does EVERYTHING I WANT IT TO DO. so who's complaining.

Never tried it, my units mini USB has been fine. The mini hdmi is used daily, I keep a dozen or so video on it for viewing.
