Check your insurance to be sure what and how much you are covered for. We found out the hard way when a object cracked the windshield on the toad. When towing a car behind a motorized RV you need to have collision insurance on the car. If you use a tow dolly make sure it is covered. For those that double tow check to be sure what you tow behind you is covered and covers you incase it comes loose. A lot of people are out there without the right information and insurance.Get a hold of your insurance agent and ask questions because a lot of you are going to find you don't have enough or the right insurance. Do not assume anything.

You had to have collision on the car to get e windshield replaced? I would think that would be comprehensive. That's what has replaced mine twice in the last 6 years. Collision is for when you hit something. It fixes your car. Comprehensive will cover things such at broken windows and etc that are caused other wise.

Whistlebritches is absolutely right. Allstate dropped us right after our daughter had a minor fender bender with NO explanation. They've spent the last 30 yrs trying to get us back but fool me twice shame on you! Ain't gonna happen.

As for the genny better check with ones policy and hoe its connected to the RV. For instance, a genny mounted in a motor home or trailer and came from the factory that way should be covered. A genny being hauled and not part of the coach may not. To many policies to have one answer that fits all.

Maybe writer only has liability on the toad. Not a good idea, no damage covered, and a big mess if you have any assets. I believe the generator on the rack would be covered under my personal property loss, but with a $1000 deductible I wouldn't bother with a claim.

I know we have poor coverage with Allstate on the fifth wheel.
Easy to tell because they want to add and charge additional for acceptable loss.

The biggie here is the OP's comment "know what you have" and don't assume anything! States differ in what they mandate and different companies policies are different make sure you KNOW what is covered and for how much.

When you have a loss is NOT the time to find out.
