chemo and traveling

I find myself tied to a once weekly round of chemo. Now I am wondering if extended trips are out of our future or if treatments can be obtained from facilities away from home. Has anyone else faced this problem and how did you solve it?
  • I was in Myrtle Beach last winter Stage 4 liver Cancer and worked with my DR and insurance company and got my treatment down there. It can be done if you snow bird
  • “Thank you for the replies. Could be we can still travel.”

Remember John Paul Jones...”don’t give up the ship!”

Fight to go. It can be done.
  • Went to Florida a few years ago. The wife had a local Dr. to prescribe pain meds and she took treatments at Moffitt Cancer Center near Tampa.

    It CAN be done.
  • I've never had chemo but my wife has. she was so sick in between treatments I am not sure if I would want to take her on a state tour while she was in treatment
  • Best to ask your Dr about treatments away. My friend was able to receive them out of state.
  • Ask your current chemo provider. Ask your Health Care insurance agent. Ask a chemo provider in the area you want to visit. But first ask your primary care physician and your local cancer doctor. Some destinations may be a no go but try, ask, push...
