I think a 5th wheel like the GD Reflection 303RLS (specs below) or something with comparable specifications as this 5th wheel would be a much better choice for my 2500HD truck.
Grand Design Reflection 303RLS
11995 - GVWR
9200 - Dry Weight
1660 - Hitch Weight (based on average - per GD web site specification)
32'11" - Length
Thanks again,

Excellent match for your 2500 GM truck.
Your 2500 GM truck comes with a 6200 RAWR may weigh 2800-2900 lb on the rear axle leaving the truck with approx 3000+ lbs for a payload. Actual weight depends on weighing your trucks front and rear axles separately.
GM online weight calculator shows 3300 lbs for your particular optioned truck but that number doesn't take into consideration junk we add in the truck or how many folks in the truck.
I tow a 11200 lb 5er with my 2500 Dodge/Cummins with 2200-2400 lbs of pin weight which varies according to how much "stuff" I load in the truck and how much "stuff" the wife loads in the camper. My 2500 truck has a 6000 RAWR and a 2840 empty rear axle weight which puts the axle in the 5200 lb range which is 800 lbs under RAWR.
Your truck won't have any issues with the 11995 GVWR trailer. Great combo.
