I didn't see anyone busting chops for using daycare - we did. But the OP states that she is a traveling nurse. Traveling doesn't mean staying at one location for a 6 month stint. Sounds to me that she would constantly need to find child care - thus the comment about strangers, which was true if you think about it from the childs point of view.
I'll agree that it sounds like a bad idea - unless the OP wants to expand on the situation.
I am not sure that your challenge is any worse than people who move every 2-3 years for career reasons, or even parents that stay put and are trying to make the decision.Your not sure? I am....
