Cleaning Fantastic Fans from inside?

Anyone have tips? It is my understanding that popping the screen off can ruin the mount tabs. What about four philips screws visible from inside? It looks like I could get up on the roof and clean it but would prefer inside.

  • Screens popped out without any damage to tabs. Wiped fan blades and housing with wet paper towel. Washed screen in sink. Much dirt removed, looks good!
  • We remove our screens (pop off style) frequently to clean them. Have yet to break a tab.

  • Thanks I watched it-good video and very informative how to take the fan and motor out.

For this cleaning though, I'd rather not get that involved. I'd be satisfied with a wiping and dusting of the blades and housing. I think I could accomplish from the inside.

Has anyone successfully removed the screen without breaking tabs? That would do for my purposes. If it looks like I will need to replace screen, I'll let it go longer between cleanings.

Also my fan appears to be secured to motor by downward facing philips screw-not set screw shown in video. If that actually holds the fan, the fan should be able to come down out of housing once screen removed.
  • There is a video on you tube by RV Geeks how to do it from the roof.
