The ends of my duct work, like Chris explained above, were not taped well and were leaking cool air into the attic space. I solved this problem by finding the correct diameter of foam pipe insulation. The round closed cell foam type. The diameter I chose was just a tad bigger than the height of the duct. I cut it just a tad longer than the width of the duct and ran it up through the last vent and placed in the duct. I pushed it about 6 inches beyond the last vent. Works perfect, no taping required and has been in my ducts for years.
