Cockroaches

Every night a cockroach or tow comes out. Where do they come from? They seem to like the bathroom
  • Cocroaches do live in the sewers, close the grey water valve and of course the black one should be closed also, and see if they still apear, you may already have an inferstation, that might need some profesional extermination, they are hard to eradicate.

  • For those of us who live in Colorado mountains....what is a cockroach?
  • HEY HEY! I live in Florida Its Not a haven for cockroaches.
are you parking near trees, are you not cleaning your RV. are you leaving food crumbs on the floor. cockRoaches need food and water.
I have traveled to campgrounds in Ga and had to battle ants.
An RV is no diffrent than your home. treat for bugs and dont leave food out
  • If you're seeing one or two, there are lots more that you don't see. Boric acid works wonders. Put it out where you see the roaches, and where they travel.

I've seen some BIG roaches in Florida.....but never one with anything in TOW !! :B

They are stow-aways. They hide during the day and come out at night.

Visit your local hardware store and get a box of roach bait stations.
While your at it, get some for ants too.

Put them in places that kids and pets can't get to......like inside cabinets under drawers, under the stove, etc.
In a few days, your bugs should be gone.
    Refresh about every 6 months.

I spent 3 years in GA 50 miles from FL and now I'm dealing with exerminators

    Call a good one,
  • You have a warm place to live with food and water...it's a perfect home and they can squeeze thru the tiniest cracks. Best bet is to keep available food and water to a minimum.

Bug bombs will generally get rid of them if you don't mind using them.

One kind of ironic thing would be to go north to freezing temps and let the rig go cold (stay in a hotel or something). They don't survive freezing weather. The only reason northern buildings have them is the buildings are heated, so they can survive.
  • Are you in Florida now? Its a haven for bugs. My '07 View was based in the Jacksonville area for its life till I bought it. as I opened up various covers and panels (removed the cab plastic step well liners for other mx), outside fridge access, area under the fridge behind the power panel, etc. I kept finding dead palmetto bugs. There are lots of places for them to get in, around pipes passing thru the floor, etc., especially if you are parked in one spot for a while. I would apply a good pesticide, boric acid, etc in various hidden places. Another chemical that works extremely well in my house, and lasts for a couple of years, is Demon WP or Cyper WP, same stuff, its a wettable powder. Mix with water, makes a gray looking water, apply with a sprayer under cabinets, any hidden areas, the water evaporates leaving the powder. Anything that walks thru the powder dies rather quickly when they injest it. Kills spiders too. No odor and otherwise harmless.
