carl2591,
I will try to answer your questions. This is from my experience working the last three weeks at Fernley, NV. Couple of things you need to understand, you work hard, walk or stand the entire shift, and you work at Amazons convenience, they will try to accommodate you but in the end you go where they need you.
1. Normal work week is 4 days, 10 hrs/day. Day shift is 7:00am to 5:30pm. Night shift is 6:00pm till 4:30am. Shift schedules are Sun to Wed, Mon Tue Thur Fri, and Wed to Sat. Can't remember but there might be a Thur to Sun shift also. Some overtime is voluntary, some mandatory.
2. Stowing, what we do, basically putting merchandise from carts into storage bins. Picking, basically retrieving merchandise from storage bins and transferring to shipping (another position) for packaging and shipping to the customer. There are other positions but those are probably the most used by Amazon for campers.
3. 10 percent for the first $1000 spent. Second part, I think so but can't recall right now.
4. They hire over a period of time. In the application process you are asked when your earliest available start date is. No guarantee on that being your start date though.
Here is the web site for the Fernley, NV site job description. I'm sure the other sites have one also but this will give you more info.

Disclaimer:::: I'm not an expert but this is what I've experienced. If I'm in error I hope someone will clarify.
