Color of LED bulbs

As I start my search for LED bulbs to replace bulbs in my camper I am in total confusion about what I am looking at. When buying incadencent bulbs you by by wattage....you do not put a 20 watt bulb into a reading lamp. So how do you determine how bright a LED bulb is and what are the guide lines to determine the color of the bulbs you are looking at. To my old eyes the color of the bulbs in my rv are on the yellow side. Mine are 1141's . And I want them brighter.....

  • You can try to determine the Lumen output of your current bulbs. I did this by looking up the individual bulbs, mostly by manufacturer. You can then size your LED replacements. Color is more of a personal choice, we like the bulbs that are closer to natural light, somewhere around 5000-6000K. Some people think this is harsh, some don't. I even used this same color temp for my under cabinet and up lights in my house.

Hope this gets you started. :C
