When I’m staying in my RV (the mother ship) I simply use Costco bean coffee ground to snuff consistency with a Krupp’s grinder and brew it with a simple 1980’s vintage Hamilton Beach drip coffee maker from Goodwill. If adequate AC power is unavailable, such as when I’m out exploring/camping in my Caravan, I use a small inverter to power the grinder and brew my coffee by dumping the grounds into a measured amount of 200 degree F hot water* let steep for 5 minutes and then pour it through a filter to remove the grounds. If I’m backpacking I do the same thing except I pre-grind the coffee before I set out. One note, at high altitudes I steep the coffee grounds in boiling water since the high altitude lowers the boiling temperature.
People love my coffee! However, if your taste runs to foo foo coffee or (YIIICK!) hazelnut you’re out of luck around my campsite.
Yes, I know, I am a coffee snob.
* Too hot water can make the coffee somewhat bitter, I bring the water to a boil, remove it from heat, and then stir the water briefly with a large metal spoon to cool it to about 200 degrees and then I add the grounds.
