Some of us run ST tires with no issues whatsoever.

Now then, ST tire issues are most common on large RV's. Those with small TT's don't seem to experience the same failure fates. However, one must wait through the expected service life of 3 years before declaring success.

2 years, 31' montana with 3 slides, maybe 12000 pounds. I estimate around 15% headroom in capacity. If your "bigger 5th came with tires that are marginally sized for the load, it's not the tires fault. It's yours for trying to pull with them.
from Orlando to Los Angeles and back.
from Orlando to Pennsylvania and back (with a side trip to ohio and back to pa).
from Orlando to Illinois and back.
My use is one of the worst as I make a run (try to average 63 but wont hesitate to hit 75 passing) and then sit there for 4 to 6 months and then come back. Not one of the tires has ever lost a single pound of air pressure in all of this time.
It's not that I am saying ST tires are ok or safe or anything. there are plenty of bad tires out there including Michelins recently recalled LT tires. I am saying Carlisle Radial ST's have served me well. your imagination may vary.
The new Carlisle Radial RH seems to be holding up. I guess adding that nylon cap really worked!
