Connecting phone to TV (as in television, not tow vehicle)

In light of the conversation about controlling your RV from your phone, maybe now is not the time to ask this :-) But, I'm of the thought that if I want to truly disconnect, I'll tent camp. My wife...

the OP's problem was volume

there are (3) places to control volume when 'cabling' the phone to the TV

the TV volume control

the volume control in media player on the screen of the phone

the phone speaker volume

ok #4 the master volume/sound controls in the phone 'settings' aka the 'Gear icon'
