One last thought since you mentioned having bought a chrome cast, there are several other apps in the google playstore with other versions of casting functions. Since Googly stuff doesnt always play nice with other formats (amazon) developers have come up with different apps to work around the blocks. I'm not sure which one would help you, but you could try a few.
