Florida has no income tax, but unless they have changed their overall tax basis recently, you will get raked over the coals if you have any investments and income other than basic retirement type. We actually moved from Florida to a state with an income tax and out tax liability decreased.
Just an FYI, investment income, retirement income, dividend income, and work related income are all exactly the same in Florida - none of them are taxed.
There was once a tax on intangible personal property owned (stocks, bonds, etc. - like personal property tax in other states) but it ended in 2007.
