The best State going nowadays is Oregon. There's zilch sales tax on your motorhome when registering it for the first time after purchase. Many Prevost coaches are registered in Oregon. I see them in the deep South and Texas a lot, so that is the State I'd advise. The key is to avoid the initial sales tax hit upon purchase, then go back to Florida for license plates the second year. That's why it's better to just register it in a State most advantageous to your needs. As long as you have an address in that particular State to claim as an address to send the finished title to - you're good to go. An LLC is costly to maintain year after year, is why it makes no sense unless you're needing to limit your liability because of your assets, or, your business.
Be very very careful with giving out this advise for the state of OR. There was a "mail forwarding" service in OR that just got charged with multiple criminal charges for doing this and the coach owners are also on the hook for both fraud charges and a revoked OR title. OR law is very specific about this and they don't play.
