I'm doing an SUV conversion (Highlander hybrid) and don't want to set up a battery system to heat the plumbing fixtures/pipes all winter. What if I just constantly dumped food grade antifreeze concentrate in my water tank and showered with that all winter?I'll only be using this system for showers, not drinking water. I'm looking at an Atwood on demand propane water heater and Shurflo heatpump if that helps at all. Thanks!

jfkmk, my thoughts also, but lately you just never can tell..So just in case the OP really is serious I would hope my post will deter some potential stupidity from happening even if wasn't the OPs (remember OTHER potential RVrs DO read these forums to get ideas)..

You could also just dump cheap vodka into your tank and shower in that....and you could cook with it and drink it also...unlike anti-freeze.

Constantly supplying antifreeze all winter instead of heat?

RV antifreeze freezes same as water just more slushy, it just doesn't expand when it freezes so it doesn't harm pipes and other things.

As far as dealing with water lines in the winter; it takes me all of 10 minutes to uncap the drain lines, open the faucets, and blow the water out. When I want to use the trailer, I just put the caps back on, fill the water tank, and head out.

It's seriously not a big deal.

Svenn, listen up man. Either you're not explaining yourself very well, have already showered with too much antifreeze or are joking.
If anything other than the first reason then can't wait to see where this thread goes!

Oh and if it's cold enough to freeze up solid, you're only using it on weekends (you have a home) then why would you need to shower if that's the issue? Wipe yer face, pits and cratch with a nice washcloth or some baby wipes and go on about the day. I can go 2-3 days without a shower at the expense of not having to shower with antifreeze!

Seems unlikely OP was serious...everyone knows antifreeze showers are best outside in the deep snow.

How cold do it get and for how long ? A few hours at 28 degrees should cause no problems . Here in north Floriduh we get many nites in high twenties and I have never had a problem ! I

I'm lost. My neighbors highlander is way to small for a shower - can't imagine placing a shower in any SUV - seems like you would have to take a shower sitting down. Smells like a troll.
