converter interference

From the day we got our 15 OR we have had a problem with cable TV through the coach. It has been in a couple of times to trouble shoot it and the guys at the dealership finally figured out the issue. The 120/12 volt converter is sending interference through the coax for the cable!!

If you throw the breaker for the converter the picture gets crystal clear.

Does this sound like a faulty converter?? Has anyone else seen this issue

NO it does not sound like a defective converter. It sounds like a poorly designed one.

There is a book http://www.arrl.org/shop/The-ARRL-RFI-Book-3rd-Edition/

It covers many causes and cures.. It should have info on curing common mode interference such as you have.

I would try putting a ferrite around the AC power wires for the converter. Any DC component of RFI or EMI is not going to interfere with TV transmission.
