Costco Visa Card and Fuel

PenFed sometimes has good deals on rental cars also.

Last trip to AK we had $170 in points after renting the car.

BTW, on the upcoming trip USAA bet out PenFed so we paid with the PenFed card for some points. :C

I have a Fred Meyers credit card through US Bank. It offers a $0.03 discount on all fuel sold at their store. Also if I happen to buy a lot on the card in the store, say for food and a TV set, it can give a discount up to $0.35 once, and $0.55 once. This is for a max 35 gallon fill up (for one vehicle). I usually fill my class C with the discount, and use the 3 cent discount for all other fuel purchases.

A 3% discount would be really nice, about 7.5 cents per gallon at the current $2.50 per gallon for gas here in Portland OR.

I just got a statement where I used it for fuel at Costco, Murphy USA(Walmart) and Kroger. I got 4% at Costco and Murphy and 1% at Kroger.

I called Costco CITI Visa and asked this very same question.

The 4% on fuel does not apply to grocery stores that also sell gas ...like Safeway, Kroger, Fred Meyer, etc.

Why not apply for a PennFed Visa Credit card. 5% back on all gas or diesel purchases at any place. The only stipulations is that you have to pay at the pump.

Haven't got that letter yet. If not, guess it defeats the purpose, for us, of having it. Hope you are incorrect :(
