What Phil said has a lot to do with our Christian valves and the way a lot of us were raised. I have found a lot of good old Southern Christian speak there minds and don't sugar coat a thing. This is the way they were raised and if you don't like there beliefs than to bad. A & E was trying to start a snowball like Food Network did to Paula Deen but this time the Christians in America spoke out not want to see this happen to Phil. Food Channel still owns Paula an apology but they not Christian enough to see they were wrong so they won't!

I saw a story about Duck Dynasty on an online news site. I haven't had cable TV in years and have never heard of the Duck Dynasty show. I was surprised that there is so much fuss over a comment made by a character on the show. I'm glad I cancelled my cable TV subscription and spend time doing other things.

IMO, Cracker Barrel caters to the Heart of America (or the girth...LOL!) anyway - I suspect the Heart of America sent a clear message about honoring Freedom of Speech.

Both received a whole lot of free publicity. Chances are, more people will eat at Cracker Barrel, AND more people will watch Duck. Everybody wins.
Now, I can eat and overnight at Cracker Barrel, knowing that the Constitution is still alive and well. Freedom of expression and of religion, it's still working.

It a lot like the little boy boldly pointing out that the Emperor had no clothes. Stating what is patently obvious is not allowed if it's at odds with the views of the news-entertainment industry.
