I agree. It's a discount to a certain group. But, I guess any incentive can be considered a 'come on.'

Like the Free stuff (junk) offered by Harbor Freight. That is a true come on.
However, if I'm there to buy something I can use, I accept the free stuff.
I'm not sure why. I have about six of the free multimeters and even my GS doesn't want another one. :B

I thought Sears would be gone by now. Warren Buffett stepped in with some cash so there has to be some value. Odd how a retailer's that got there start with mail order (along with Montgomery Wards) can fail.

Reminds me of Kodak that invented digital cameras but did not release them because it would cannibalize sales of their film camera.

Back when I was a kid, Sears was the place to go to buy tools, appliances, in fact about everything non food related but they went the way of FW Woolworth. Down the toilet.

Stanley tools owns the Craftsman brand.
I believe Ace was one of the first outside of Sears to sell them, but they never owned them to my knowledge.

Yep, you can find better. In fact for an RV`er a 2k watt is useless unless you don't use the AC with one. And yes, Craftsman used to be of much better quality than what it is now.

there are a number of tried and true 2000w inverter generators out there, that are proven and cheaper, especially Champion.
Lowes sells the Champion 2000w inverter generator for $426. WAY cheaper, well proven and great customer support.

Vets discount is just a 'come-on'..:R

Don't even consider a generator that doesn't have a repair network.

Go with the Red, Blue, or Yellow (Champion) inverter gens.

Craftsman *HAND* tools may still be OK, but that's "it".
