Had a trucker do that on I-40 east of Kingman earlier this year and I loved it! As long as the chuckleheads could pass after the lane closed warning signs they would. As car after car blasted by us and jammed into our lane traffic back up for miles. Once the trucker straddled the two lanes it ended the problem completely and made for safer conditions for everyone.
A couple of miles later as the lane reopened the trucker passed, I tooted my horn and gave him a big thumbs up.
