That just is not true of ALL card providers!
I have never had a problem with my bankcard, and I have never had to tell my bank when and where I was going.
When we went to Chattanooga, I used three different cards for all the gas purchases for the trip, and one of those cards for the RV park fees. No problems.
I recently made a trip to Nevada and back. No problems buying gas in Montana, Idaho, and Nevada.
If YOUR card provider wants you to tell them about everything you do and everyplace you go, then you certainly should remember to let them know before you start out.
None of my card providers are that snoopy. We get along just fine.
