  • I just set up our 13 CR-V, base plate from Amazon.com $332. Local shop charged 3 hours to install base plate. I understand the base plate for 12 & 13 CR-Vs is changed from previous 07 - 11 models. I did lights and will use the BrakeBuddy we used with our Jeep GC. Dick
  • Budsmith,
Well Sir, we just sold our '11 CRV EX-L 4x4 which we used for a toad for about 18 months. If I recall, the base plate was around $375.00 plus or minus. I don't know if you're a do it yourselfer or not but, it's fairly simple install. And, as for the wiring, there's all kinds of ways for you to set it up or, pay someone to do it for you.

It cost me a about $30.00 plus or minus due to the fact that I set it all up myself. I did the way that many don't care to do and that's utilizing the stock tail light bulbs for toad lights. It's very simple and easy to do. About 95% of the works was all done just behind the left rear tail light housing. I used two diodes from Radio Shack which, cost about $3.00.

I've drew up a diagram of my wiring schematic if you'd like to see it, PM me and I'd be glad to send it to you. The way it's done makes all the lights in the CRV act the same EXACT way they do as if you're driving it, including the amber turn signals and, the third brake light.

The CRV is a simple toad to setup.

  • Baseplate will be around $350, wiring for the lights, about $100-$150, brake system $800 to $1200 depending on what you choose, and add another $100-$150 for a Toad Charge system to keep you from having a dead battery. If you do the work yourself, <$2000, pay someone else, >$2000.
