Curious as to those who work & full time.

With 7 yrs maintenance with NPS, Dept Army, Forest Service and then bought back 3 yrs of military (Navy back in the 60's) gave me 10 yrs of government service and qualified for early retirement at 62 with small pension that pays the health insurance premium and a little left over. Once you are in you can apply for positions in any location you want. We worked in Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial in OH, Golden Gate NRA in SF,CA, White Sands Missile Base in NM, Grand Canyon NP in AZ, Oregon Trail BLM in Baker City,OR. Getting these jobs isn't easy at first but once you are hired and do a good job you are good to go.

We started FT in 1997 at age 47/48 working for minimum wage in the national parks for the concessionaires, then seasonally for the NP's. Eventually DH got a permanent position with park service. That got us benefits and the ability to transfer and travel from park to park. Best of both world for an RVer. Some places provided RV spots or housing. After 10 years (bought back military time)we were able to retire at age 62 and keep our health insurance. Check out the USA jobs web site and see if there is a job that you would qualify for. The process is complicated and takes a while to get used to but it was well worth it for us.

But by doing the work camping , thing that job in its self, will put u in spot of meeting a lot of folks, which will increase your chances of working into a paying job. Ok goodeal . Good luck and now it's all happy-camping

Pay will depend on your base area. When I started Seattle paid $2/hr more than Tucson. I went to Seattle.
Mileage is the federal tax mileage rate.

Thanks Fulltimer, I will see what I can find out about this company. I noticed they do have travel positions available and seems very similar to Southern Cross. I am curious as they don't list any pay rate for their traveling positions. Do you have any information on what they pay hourly/mileage/bennies?

Sounds like you need to find a sales position with a large territory. As with most any full time job, you will have to put in your requisite hours at the appointed places. There aren't too many positions with benefits that allow to do what the heck ever you want, whenever you want to. The only thing you might find with the benefits included is going to be a road warrior type position that will allow you to use your RV instead of planes, trains and automobiles. This will most likely result in you spending your time on the road in bad RV parks in the suburbs of major cities that have mostly been taken over by long term guests. There aren't a whole lot of sales jobs where your customers are located in vacation spots. Even a job selling to the hospitality industry would be 80% city work, since there are many more hotels and motels in cities than there are at the Grand Canyon and the like. About the only people who truly can make a good living full timing in the woods and at vacation destinations are those who make a living by being connected to the internet, i.e. programmers, system people and the like. And even that is starting to shrink since companies are starting to rethink the whole "work from home" dynamic.
