Curt 5th wheel

I have a Ram brand hitch which is very obviously a Curt. I really like the hitch so far but can't seem to close the jaws once I unhitch from the camper. Do I just drive around with the jaws open all the time?

  • My curt came with a plastic king pin that I can put in the hitch to close the jaws. I put a Teflon disc on it to keep as a spare.

If you have a 'Q' series hitch the jaws are spring loaded to open and remain open until forced closed by kingpin engaging jaws with handle in 'couple' position

Ok, thanks. I'm used to a hitch I could close.
