So why is louder and red so much more acceptable? Why aren't the people using the twin reds not being jumped on for not using the quieter EU3000is? I guess expensive noise is just more acceptable. Maybe having your nose in the air changes the angle of the ears and that makes it quieter. lol
As I may have mentioned earlier, it's not necessarily the dbs, it's the kind of noise that cuts through everything.
The 3000 won't run what 2 2ks will. Expensive noise is slightly less annoying at full throttle, and when the a/c is off, we know we're going to get much quieter than the open-frames running full bore all the time. It's really not very common to see inverter gens running at full throttle for very long. I won't comment on the nose in the air.
It's good for me if I do my best to avoid being within earshot of any open-frames because complaining is going to get me nowhere. I'll try to be happy for them that they saved a few hundred dollars.
Don't have to comment on the "nose in the air"....wasn't directed at you....I merely stated that some can afford the Honda's and the Yamaha's and some can only afford the champions at a fraction of the cost....I would only use mine in a power loss situation, and only when I'd absolutely have to....It wouldn't be in a campground unless I just happen to be at a campground when that happened....I doubt there would be a revolt and one would be thrown out of the campground because a Champion Generator was keeping someones' fridge going and providing electricity for them....
I"ve heard "open frame commercial gen's", which the champion 3500/4000 isn't....The one that was about a 1/2 mile from my campsite, (give or take a couple hundred yards), was loud, but I sure didn't begrudge the people for using it....guess you had to be in that disaster area to understand.....
