The only time I encountered this type of policy, I’d seen it previously but never had visitors, I was totally impressed with its application.
I had inquired at the office about having some friends from the air show I was there to see back to the campground for the afternoon / evening if the rain they were calling for materialized. They said ‘no problem, just have them stop here on the way in’. Each person was asked for $10 and given a placard to put in their vehicle window and told to return when they left. We all had a great afternoon chatting and watching the lightning.
What totally impressed me though was when the storm cleared and we all decided to go for dinner and then our separate ways and left the park. When we got to dinner they were all talking about how nice the park was and about how the office had GIVEN BACK their $10 ‘visitor deposit’ each had paid!!!
Talk about a great way to advertise!
Several of the visitors stated that their days of camping onsite were over, they were staying there in future years!
