If you took ALL those pictures with the hitch on actually connected to the tow vehicle, they don't tell the real story. The hitch head is angled upwards toward the trailer there, but when hitched to tow, it will angled down which should allow room.
The WD bars are on the L brackets which should position the hitch head very close to what it would be when towing. The pictures should show it just about what it will be like when hooked up to the trailer and tow vehicle.

Bars are on the brackets, but they are not under tension. TurnThePage is right, IMHO.
