You don't ever have to pay any fee you don't want to. Then again, they don't have to sell you a rig on your terms. For both you and the dealer it is all in the math. If you want the total to be 5, you really don't care if it is 3+1+1, or 3+2, or 9-4, or the square root of 25. Look at the amount you will have to write the check for. That is all that matters.
