We have hit a whole tractor trailer tire carcass, not the rim, pieces of tires, all the time. Managed to dodge folding chairs, a 12 ft ladder, coolers, and bags, of who knows what over time.
You can't see what the semi Driver sees, in front, of him nor most cars.
I know I've left off a bunch ,of junk we've hit or missed on the road. Thinker is parked.
