This happened in my hometown a few years back: A log truck hauling tree length logs was loaded about 13’ 8” high and tried to go under an overpass that was 13’ 4” high. The top few logs peeled off when they hit the bottom of the overpass and “harpooned” the windshield of a small sedan following behind the trailer. The eight year old boy who was sitting in the back seat was killed in front of his mother who was driving the sedan. The driver of the truck went to prison for eight years after he was charged/convicted with vehicular manslaughter. The family who lost the child was local and well known in the community. A very sad tale!
