We had awning toppers on our last trailer and loved it. We are buying a new fifth wheel and are having them installed on all three slides. Yep $1800 installed, but snow debris etc will be off the top, and yes we still need to check and make sure everything is clear. just like the fact that it provides a bit of extra protection to the slide seals on top, less chances of wear and tear on seals, etc. I have seen some that have had snow packed up on the slide without a topper, what a mess getting the slide in. I believe in them and have been in nasty southwest winds, up north in cold rain and snow storms etc. Good Luck & Be Safe ! ! !
