I'm skeptical about running it two hours a day, but you could help yourself out if it was full of frozen food and had been running for a few days before you left home. More of a mass and it would take longer to thaw. That being said, you have a lot more to lose if it doesn't work. If you want to experiment, why not fill it with bags of ice, instead of a cup of ice and see how you make out?
