Just had a problem with the DEF sensors on our 2017 Class A. The Cummins repair shop that fixed our problem. I was told that if stored below 85 degrees DEF has a shelf life of 2years. If allowed to be in over 95 degree weather the shelf life shortens to one month.
The recommendation was to use the DEF from the island pumps as the large ground tanks are well insulated in the ground at a temperature well below 85 degrees and as was mentioned earlier the truckers use much more DEF than RVers as the truckers are more plentiful and on the road more than RVers.
