I have the trailer and all the parts, and the wire with connectors that were removed. It's good that you have everything. I guess the ball is in their court now. Don't forget to stay calm and document everything going forward (time, name, what was said etc.) Maybe you can get them to work with you via email - that would make documenting things easier...
Does everything visually look good - no grooves in drums, decent amt of friction material on shoes, no excessive rust (to prevent motion), no contamination of pads (from grease for example), no pitting or wear marks on bearings/races?
Basically, can you see any reason for them to have inspected the brakes and legitimately recommended replacement of any parts whatsoever (other than the wires)?
All but one is visually good, one drum and backing plate was contaminated with grease as the seal had pop of RECENTLY (not the cause off poor brakes) popped off, even that one was not bad, and could have been reused, the shoes in that drum would have had to be replaced. There was more that an 1/8 inch of shoe left on all the brakes.
Their finial mechanic that look at the drums agreed that the one drum that was contaminated could have been cleaned up and used.
I have learned my lesson in the past not to lose my temper, it gets you nothing, I have been very clam with everyone I have talked with, listened to what they have had to say and then tried to point out that the brakes did not work regardless of the excuses put forth
