Did I get scammed?

I have been watching class c's on craigslist for a while. Yesterday, I saw a 2006 with 157,000 miles for $7000.00. Curious if it had a bad motor or some other major issue, I sent a message through Craigslist wanting information about it. It is located in Chicago, about 2 hours form me. I have had no response to the email. Today I see a different picture of the same class c in Tampa Florida. Tonight I see the Same class c on Ebay in California for $22,000.00 with no reserve and no bids. Did the Craigslist ad some how scam me. Are they after my email address or are they baiting me for more personal information?

  • There's something definitely off here.

The ebay listing is by a dealer.

If you look at the photos on the craigslist Chicago listing, they appear to have been cropped to remove the "Clear Choice Motors" logos on the images.

The craigslist Tampa listing looks like the interior is a different rig, but the text is the exact same as the Chicago listing - I'm guessing they stole the image from another website.

I would contact the ebay seller and forward them the links. I'd also report both to craigslist as potential fraudulent ads.
  • Yes I used CL email and no phone number, no name or address. I'm not very knowledgeable about scams and just wondered why they would post an add like that. The Ebay seller has 100 % feedback, so its like pictures from the Ebay ad were copied and posted to CL. If I got took somehow, I wanted to know and help others from not getting in the same mess. Thank you for your response.

Did you use a CL email or your regular one? Did you email your cell phone? If no personal info was given you're fine.
