When the campground has a central dumpster or multiple dumpsters, the wife will walk up with a bag of garbage, with one hand open the lid and at the same time sling the bag into the dumpster and walk off letting the lid just settle down on its own.The husband? He walks up to the dumpster, and with one hand opens the lid and holds it open while he gives the contents of the dumpster a really good once over. Sometimes even moving something out of the way to get a better look...then sling the garbage into the dumpster and lets the lid slam and walks away....On occasions, the husband will turn around and walk back and re-open the lid to give it just one more double look.

Some of those guys are dumpster diving.

I never noticed that either. But then again I don't spend much time hanging out at the dumpster. :)

Some people dumpster dive, some people dumpster spectate.

Sounds like dumpster divers to me. :)

Dumpster divers in Quartzsite at South LaPosa have their own territories staked out. You don't want to violate their space!

I have always looked in the dumpster as I threw my garbage in but never remember seeing anything good enough for me to dumpster dive for it :)

I got a perfectly good, new in box, Moen ($120) kitchen faucet that was set beside the trash container. Guess someone couldn't figure out how to replace his or the wife didn't like the style.

Good hints. A trick I use is to wear my cap into the room where the female administrator has her office, Take my hat off as I reach her desk, and watch as she melts into putty. Piece of cake! :C

I have not noticed what the OP said, but I do get irritated when I see boxes of air in the dumpster.

And I learned on The Simpsons that 'Dumpster' is a brand name of a trash receptacle.

I left one of those folding chairs in a bag that was broken inside a dumpster. A camping neighbor dumped his garbage, closed the lid, and then started to walk away, but then turned around and pulled the chair out and took it back to his campsite. I had kept the bag to use for something else, and when he left his campground for a walk, I put the bag on top of the chair under his TT. When he returned he looked nervously around the CG to see where it came from. . . it must have been from the "cargo gods"?

I've had 4 heart attacks, 2 strokes and cancer and I still have to take it out. Love is grand. (I guess)

I don't think any treasure which has been baking in a garbage oven all weekend is worth even a second look. Husband would agree. We'll let someone else score a good find. Phew!

First you have to become disabled.

Then have a government agency and a physician or two confirm said disability. Throwing in a minor stroke helps, although looking at her with sad eyes and saying:"I've had a stroke you know," doesn't work for long.

She will then take out the garbage, using your mobility cart.

The problem is, the price for said service is way too high. :)
