Not something that I would normally suggest, but if you have an alternate driver, you could ride in the trailer to see what is going on. Best to do this in a low traffic area, due to the obvious safety concern/legality.
I would think it would take some serious vibration, bad tire, bent wheel, broken suspension. A short ride should give a clue.
