My flag is up 24/7 when camping and it has a red/blue/green flashing strobe on top of the pole for nighttime. It is able to display two 3x5 flags. Flags are on a 22' long pole and it's a pain to put up and take down so I leave it up.
I've had one person disagree with one of my flags, which is the blue stripe flag but everyone else is for it. I also display the red stripe flag when my SIL is camping with us.
One thing I've noticed when reading the US Flag Code is the use of the word should, rather than shall. The US Flag Code has no teeth leaving prosecution to the states, which obviously don't.
I did my time in the military and wore a police badge for 30 years so, for me, I'm going to display my flags the way I want to. Some may not like it being up 24/7 without proper lighting but I'd rather have it that way than not at all.
