Distribution Hitch Preload
I am wondering how much tension (preload) I can put on the weight distribution hitch "springs". Mine use chains attached to the spring or trunion bar and tension is applied by pulling up on the chain...

Same as what a TV is rated for...
Sure most things can do more, but then how close to the design limits & margins dialed in by the OEM?
Plastic limits or to yield or beyond?...then why?
Ditto for anything else in that food chain...including both the TV & trailer components
Plus...not a one size fits all thing...depends and the answers you are getting and looking for must have the exact same component models/specs/etc as yours to apply to yours...
And note that the OEW's (yes, your TV and trailer OEMs too) have both static and dynamic loading calculated and accounted for in their design/engineering numbers and certification approvals
