I fully agree.. Now I travel with several radios. One Weather/All Hazards alert and at least 2 ham rigs. The first continusly looks for and if it finds monitors the NOAA weather broadcasts, it looks for the tone signals that mean ALERT.
The Ham rigs,,,, memmory 30 is 162.55 MHz, and 31 and 32 and so on are other weather broadcast frequencies. The superior antenna on the ham rigs means I get a better signal there.
Why 30... well the first of the radios I programmed 30 is where I parked the weather service.. so I just kept putting it in 30 so I don't have to think "Which radio is this?))
But in many campers, NO such radio exists. Thus, the campground (Which should have one in the security office) provides the alert service... Not everyone is trained to find the shelter after all.
