I will raise my hand and say when I first started out I did not ask where the emergency building was when I checked into a CG.
I do NOW! My first question is where is the emergency building?
I was on the Mississippi at a CG when the TV put out storm warning and a tornado warning. I started packing up to get me, my RV and my toad off that river bank!
The camper on the left of me asked why I was running around packing up at warp speed? At this point it dawned on me that not everyone knew about the warning. I ran to the older couple on the right of me and told them and helped them pack up first and then went back to my RV.
Within 5 minutes The tornado touched down in the CG.
I watched 30 RV'ers running around not knowing what to do, or where to go. It was sad, very sad and was a very dangerous situation. People were unnecessarily hurt and many RV's damaged.:(
When you own a venue were people are in RV'ers out in the elements it is the responsibility of the owner/manager to keep them safe and INFORMED. Perhaps if the OP experienced and saw what I did he'd being singing a different tune about a responsible host warning campers ahead of time to avoid the situation that the campers where I was staying went thru.
