be sure and look at GA's DDS website as the requirements for a DL have increased due to federal positive proof of id requirements. My mother who is 78 and had a GA license since she was 16, had to have her Birth certificate, marriage license and 2 proofs of address (she has lived in the same house for over 50 years) just to renew. This was the first time she has renewed since the new requirements went into affect; supposedly, she want have to have all that time when she renews again, if she is still driving in 10 years.
