Truck is 2008 Chev 2500HD. The sticker on the hitch says: 15837632 V-5 GM. I dont have a good picture of it, but a
simillar one can be seen here. It's got the round cross bars.
Thanks
What's sad is that my hitch on our 2013 Kia Sorento looks as substantial if not more and mine is rated at 350/3500 lbs with NO WD allowed (okay, slight exaggeration but not much lol)
I'd replace it with a much more substantial hitch similar to This one.
Thanks!
Jeremiah - LantleyNomadMy 2007 classic had the weak hitch until I replaced it.

That is what's known as a "band aid"!
To the OP, Buy a real hitch. To many failures of the factory hitch to chance ot. - bgumExplorerIt was prior to 2006. The solution was to weld two plates to the receiver.
- OpenRangePullenExplorerThats a sad little hitch, replace it with a real hitch.
- VintageRacerExplorerThat looks exactly like the hitches that fail. The welds that attach the receiver tube to the two supporting flanges fail. From what I recall the hitch is the same on the 1500 and the 2500, and both had failures. Some instances of the frame attaching plates cracking as well.
Brian - mooky_stinksExplorerI seem to remember they were quite a bit older than 08 and they were 1/2 tons. After doing a quick google search it looks like it was 2000-2005. I wouldn't worry about it.
- BarneySExplorer IIIIf it were mine, I would replace it. I am not sure about the exact dates for the bad ones but I wouldn't take the chance.
