I guess he couldn't find the hole in the receiver bar- Was taught years ago to always hook up the safety chains so that they would break away because the if the trailer came unhitched and the safety chains held it would probably cause you to loose control and wreck. Note I no longer follow that advice.

+1.... Sometimes this forum just shines!- Actually this is the way it is done in Hawaii when your wife is riding in the trailer and you are on Maui and descending the road from the top of Haleakala
